Two-stroke small engine carburetors have passages smaller than a human hair. Spray-and-reassemble cleaning doesn't reach them. What's the most common reason a chainsaw won't start?
Old fuel and a varnished carburetor account for the majority of chainsaw no-starts. Ethanol-blend fuel degrades quickly and leaves deposits in the carburetor's tiny passages. A proper carburetor clean — which requires full disassembly — typically resolves the issue. We also check the spark plug, recoil starter, and compression while we have it apart.
